Directive: 26-01 - Minimum PPE - Incident Commander
Operational Guidance/Clarification
This directive is to clarify the TFRD Operations policy on what and how much personal protective gear is to be worn by Battalion Chiefs while performing as the Incident Commander at Working Fires and Extrications.
The minimum level of protection will be a fire coat and fire helmet, which will be worn, and gloves will be immediately available for use.
In addition, dependent upon the emergency scene and circumstances, additional protective gear such as a safety vest, personal floatation device, and/or EMS gear may be required as a minimum also.
