As of Immediately:
When an engine or medic unit is westbound on Airport Highway and turning right onto Seymour Road, so to return to Station 11, the turn will be performed from the curb lane only. The TFRD vehicle will not maneuver into the other lanes to make this turn. The unsafe practice of swinging into the other westbound or center turn lane is to cease.
It was demonstrated today by two different engines that this turn can be safely, legally, and effectively performed with only a small intrusion into the grass/dirt area of the side yard at worst. This area will be converted to stone temporarily until a permanent solution is installed.
