Operational Clarification
The new air unit, Air 1, is now in service at Station 18. There will be a short training video on Target Solutions for all members to familiarize themselves with the vehicle. There are not any drastic differences but a few minor changes in its inventory.
Deployment: When Air 1 is dispatched, either M18 or M28 will be dispatched as the crew for the unit. If neither of them is available, then E18 would be up next to take the unit to the fireground. If the circumstances at the moment dictate that Air 1 should be dropped off and returned to Station 18 by a crew on the fireground due to limited available resources, then that appropriate decision would be determined then. Since the RCOG might have ‘better eyes on that situation’ than the IC on the fireground, that could be a recommendation by the dispatchers to Command who would make that decision.
