Our extra rigs are put into service when our staffing levels afford us that opportunity. But on occasion, these rigs have been dispatched when they should not have been or not dispatched when they should have been.

To avoid this in the future, anytime an extra rig will be utilized, the crew is to announce to the RCOG that they are going into service at the beginning of that shift and likewise, announce over the radio that they are out of service when the shift comes to an end. The RCOG will keep the extra rigs logged onto CAD and our crews will inform them of when the extra rig is and is not available for service.

This applies to all extra rig shifts; (e.g. if A-shift runs with E10 they will make both announcements and so would B-Shift if they too run with E10 the very next tour).

At this time, Directive 25-08 applies to extra rigs; (E10 – R25 – T6 – M13 – M28)
