On July 8, 2024, Toledo Fire & Rescue’s responses to ‘In-Service Assist’ typecodes will change to an ‘Assist’. This has been changed in procedure C-55 which has been submitted to L92 and L3382.

There will be very little that changes with this but includes:

• Radio Channel-1 will not be used. The entire incident will be conducted on radio Channel-3,
• The assigned crew will be eligible for diversion to a higher priority incident while enroute to the ‘Assist’ incident.
• Once on-scene of the ‘Assist’ incident, the crew cannot be reassigned to another incident.
• If the initial crew is reassigned to a higher priority incident, all crews subsequently assigned to the Assist incident can possibly be reassigned also if the circumstances dictate.
• Proper assessments, actions, and documentation will be completed.
