The Collective Bargaining Agreement between the City of Toledo and IAFF Local 92 requires that (15) Medic Units will be placed into service. At this time, it is the Fire Administration’s intention to staff these (2) additional Medic Units by putting E12 out-of-service. When staffing levels above 113 members allow, E12 will be placed back into service.

This will involve;

• M28 going into service at Station 18 and alternate being dispatched with M18, just like M25 & M26 do at Station 25 currently. This is to assist with the increasing volume of runs in west Toledo.

• M13 going into service for the short term until the training and logistics of putting M7 into service are completed.

• M7 going into service at Station 7. The HazMat rig will be moved to Station 6 and the extra truck will be moved to Station 13. Once trained, Engine 13 will staff the truck when another truck is needed in service.

We know there may be a few ‘speed bumps’ with these changes but anticipate that it can be operationally successful. We will evaluate its progress and make any modifications which will become necessary.
