This will standardize the process which will allow members to voluntarily continue to be assigned to a Medic Unit, if they so choose. [[contracts:local-92-current|Section 2125.100]] of the current contract with Local 92 states that “no paramedic shall be required to ride a medic unit for more than three hundred twelve (312) hours…”. This clause does not disallow members from voluntarily riding beyond this limit. * The Opt-Out form can be found on the TFRD Website under ‘Submit a Form’. When submitted, it will automatically be emailed to Operations, EMS, and Local 92. This form replaces the 312-Hour Completion form which will be removed. * An opted-out member will have their status on the TFRD Website chart indicate this decision. * A completed Opt-Out form is valid for only that specific 312-hour rotation and must be resubmitted for any following rotations, if the member chooses. * Opted out members, who ride a Medic Unit beyond the 312-hour limit during a rotation, will not have those hours count towards the next 312-hour rotation. * Once a member opts out of a particular rotation, that cannot be rescinded later by the member. * No specific staffing/assignment agreements will be made with individual members concerning opting out requests. Senior Battalion Chiefs can take concerns into consideration while scheduling, but no obligatory commitments will be made. \\ **Issue Date: January 29, 2026** <- 2026_directives:26_02 ^ 2026_directives:start|Index ^ 2026_directives:26_04 ->
