As of this writing, neither building has functional fire alarm or fire suppression systems. The Spitzer Building does not have a standpipe and its one staircase that reaches all 11 floors is an open staircase. The Nicholas Building has a standpipe in its one staircase that reaches all 17 floors but it is to be consider non-operational at this time. Additionally, the elevators are not operational. Until such time as the fire suppression system status changes with functioning standpipes, no interior fire response efforts will be undertaken above the reach of our TFRD aerial trucks’ platforms unless evaluated and approved by a Chief Officer with the fire suppression team. Fire suppression options available up to this height can include; * The aerial platforms can be used to directly attack the fire, * The aerial platforms can be utilized as elevated standpipes, * Hose lines can be stretched up the stairwells, * Hose lines can be lowered or hauled up the open core stairwells, * Hose lines can be lowered or hauled up the exterior of the buildings. \\ **Effective Date: September 05, 2025** <- 2025_directives:25_15 ^ 2025_directives:start|Index ^ 2025_directives:25_17 ->
