 +\\
 +**Policy / Procedure**
 +
+Department members who have not served in a line operations capacity for more than 180 consecutive days shall:
 +
 +  * **Track Time Away**
+    * Members are responsible for monitoring their time off the line. Fire Administration will implement a Staff Form requiring each member to sign and date upon entering the Staff Schedule and again upon exiting.
 +
 +  * **Schedule Training**
+    * Members must contact the Training Bureau to schedule reentry training at least 30 days prior to reaching the 180-day mark. Upon receiving clearance to return, the member must notify Fire Administration immediately. The member will then be scheduled to complete all required reentry training and may not return to line operations until training is successfully completed. Training will follow the most recent state standard for Firefighter I & II and Toledo Fire Academy checkoffs.
 +
 +  * **Equipment Readiness**
+    * Members must ensure all department-issued equipment is maintained in operational condition.
 +
 +  * **Additional Requirements**
+    * Members shall report for any additional training, skills evaluations, and/or equipment fitting as directed. Training will continue until the member demonstrates successful completion of all listed job performance requirements (JPRs).
 +
 +\\
 +**Exemptions**
 +
+  * Members unable to return due to medical restrictions, military orders, or other legitimate reasons (as determined by the Fire Chief or designee) are exempt while on leave. Upon approval to return, these individuals must complete all reentry training requirements before resuming line operations.
 +
+  * Members who work an overtime shift of eight hours or longer and review the reentry JPRs will be considered current and exempt from reentry training for six months from the overtime date.
 +
+  * Members assigned as academy instructors or actively instructing fire operations/tactics in a designated training role may be exempt from reentry requirements.
